As more and more details of Obamacare come to light, the US Government’s—via the Obama Administration—dangerous, socialist takeover of our economy and culture becomes even more frightening.  Those of us over 65 are in especial danger, for the elderly are going to find reduced care—simply because it’s too expensive.  And don’t try to pay for anything by yourself.  That simple freedom is curtailed.

Yes folks, ’1984′ is on the horizon.  ‘Logan’s Run’ is on the horizon.  Is ‘Soylent Green’ also on the horizon?

Father John of Fox News:
“But let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a fundamental human right to socialized medicine.”

Ryan J Donmoyer and Kristin Jensen Bloomberg:
“The 1,018-page House Democratic plan builds on a June 19 draft and for the first time includes details on how to pay for the measure. In addition to the levy on millionaire households, the House would place surtaxes of 1.5 percent on couples with incomes of $500,000 to $1 million and 1 percent on those with incomes of more than $350,000.

“The surtax on wealthier Americans would be imposed based on adjusted gross income, meaning it would also apply to capital gains and dividends, which are currently taxed at a 15 percent rate. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel said lawmakers targeted high earners because it “causes the least amount of pain on the least amount of people.”

Thomas Donohue of the US Chamber of Commerce:
“The intention of this plan is to tax high-income households, but the real victims would be America’s small business owners…Since when does our great free-market country punish success?”

Dr Orrin Devinsky of ABC “…asked the President pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn’t seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he’s proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get…The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if ‘it’s my family member, if it’s my wife, if it’s my children, if it’s my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care.’..”

David A Patten of Newsmax
“On Friday [7/17/09], Democrats moved one step closer to giving free health insurance to the nation’s estimated 12 million illegal aliens when they successfully defeated a Republican-backed amendment, offered by Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nev., that would have prevented illegal aliens from receiving government-subsidized health care under the proposed plan backed by House Democrats and President Barack Obama…

“The Democratic plan will embrace Obama’s vision of bringing free government medical care to more than 45 million uninsured people in America––a significant portion [about 12 million] of whom are illegal aliens. [Others being about 22 million young and not wanting insurance; about 8 million temporarily between jobs; and about 3 million poorer people not taking the health care that already exists in current programs.]

“Democrats had insisted throughout the health-care reform debate that illegals would be ineligible for the so-called public option plan that is to be subsidized by taxpayers.

Senator Max Baucus D-Montana, Chairman Senate Finance Committee:
“We’re not going to cover undocumented aliens, undocumented workers,” ‘the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, told reporters in May.’
“That’s too politically explosive.”

“A recent Rasmussen Reports poll found that an overwhelming 80 percent of Americans oppose covering illegals in any public health care bill.”

“Anti-immigration [this should be anti-illegal immigration] activists say the availability of low-cost benefits, including health insurance and in-state tuition, will only lure more immigrants to come to the United States.”

Dick Morris Political Analyst:
“…warns that giving illegal free health care will lead to a flood of new illegals who can take advantage of such a benefit not offered in their home countries…”

TNM:
Is any of this a surprise to sane Americans?  Warnings about these socialist plans to be found in an Obama administration were given constantly during the Presidential campaign.  Yet, the amateur Obama was elected.  How?  Some Democrats always vote for the Democrat no matter who he is or what he might do.  Others believed the palpable nonsense of Hope and Change his Teleprompters spouted.  [Well, they got it alright.]  Others didn’t like McCain.  And sadly, others voted for him simply because he was black.  Yes, they are racists.  It’s a fact and should be considered.  So, now we all suffer from a self-bloated and grossly interventionist government.

This tragedy can be traced to the interventionistic Democrats in Congress, especially from 2006 to the present.  Notably among the disaster-meisters are Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, John Murtha, Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid—and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Are we headed for a revolution?  Possibly.  Who knows?

We have to keep fighting the current Congress and President.  In 2010 we should remove all 435 House members and a third of the Senate.  In 2012, we should put a Conservative in the White House to start cleaning up the mess and replace another third of the Senate.  By 2014, we can vote out the remainder of the Senate and hopefully be on our way to some semblance of order.

Townhall email:
“A National Abortion Bill?

That is what the legislation should be called, because the bill pending in Congress includes the unlimited right of a woman to end the life of her baby, with the government footing the bill. And groups like Planned Parenthood will be the beneficiaries of your tax dollars.”

Fred Thompson radio show:

“ON PAGE 425 OF OBAMA’S HEALTH CARE BILL [sic], the Federal Government will require EVERYONE who is on Social Security to undergo a counseling session every 5 years with the objective being that they will explain to them just how to end their own life earlier. Yes…They are going to push SUICIDE to cut medicare spending!”

TNM
So this is change?  Government funded abortions?  Suicide counseling for the elderly?  Unconscionable taxes?  We’d have done better voting for none of the above.

Our Muslim trained and named President who sat for twenty years listening to the fiery radical pastor Wright condemn America [Obama apologized for America in foreign countries] and had ties to communist, socialist, and radical people and groups [Bill Ayres, Acorn et al] is now showing America his true stripes.  You unthinking Liberals out there voted this guy in.  I hope you’re proud for what you’ve given all of us with your knee-jerk reactions.

There are currently several companies advertising their ‘no coding’ blood sugar meters—they’re free, but you have to sign up for regular delivery of and payment for supplies from them.  That’s where the companies make their money.

As for the maligned coding concept, these ads are misleading.  I’m a diabetic, and I still use the meter I was issued several years ago.  I think the retail cost at the time was around $60.  My doctor and diabetes nurse both said it was more accurate than the new ones that permit you to use your arm or other non-finger areas.  Coding consists of opening the test strip box, taking out the little plastic chip at the top, and sliding it into the pocket in the back of the meter.  The meter takes it from there, and that’s the extent of ‘coding.’  So, coding is no big deal.  I’d take my Accu-Chek over any other meter I’ve seen or been told about.  And for crying out loud: designer colors?  “Fun” colors? And quicker?  If you can’t wait fifteen or twenty seconds for the reading, then you’re not really serious about controlling your disease.  They market these meters like color-coordinated cell phones.

As for the finger pricks?  My opinion is that it is a side-effect of having a serious DISEASE!  Life isn’t a computer game, folks.  Diabetics need to keep close tabs on blood sugar and diet.  I’ve seen too many tragic cases of people who ignored their disease until they lost a limb or part of one, or had serious internal problems.  A few pinpricks a day [I use four or five tests; and at last count, I still have ten fingers] reminds you that you have a disease that needs close control.  So, don’t be fooled into thinking you no longer have to spend time in recognition of a serious disease.  Diabetes is not a matter of designer meters.

There are numerous companies these days—usually on the Food Channel or History Channel—that voice there claims about taking their production for a year and putting the units end to end for a number of turns about the world.  At this point of weary listening, I think that if you took the spokesmen and spokeswomen claiming such things, and laid them end to end, you’d have a ring I could believe in.

Considering the modern vices created by photos, movies, television, the computer, the internet, the automobile, a large population of takers—well, I think Heaven is going to have more people from the nineteenth century than the twentieth or twenty-first.  But then, I admire the modern concepts of photos, movies, television, the computer, the internet, the automobile, and well-financed medical research [please keep the government away from that].  So, making it to Heaven is a matter of personal behavior, and these inventions and others just test us.  They can be good or bad, but the sad truth is that people are the ones who damage other people, not their assets or inventions.  While being a liberal is a choice and not a sin, it leads to anti-human attitudes and nefarious schemes against religion and old fashioned common sense.  Peace be with you.

I keep seeing these pleas for money to support animal care and rescue.  I applaud the sentiment and efforts.  But what about humans?  Over the past decades, we’ve permitted baby murder of more than thirty million—and that’s just in the US.  I know some of you readers think that a woman has the ‘right to choose’, but I don’t agree with such an all-encompassing concept.  The right to choose your own medical treatment is one thing.  Murdering an unborn child is another.  No person can play God.  So quit the whining about a right that doesn’t exist with anyone.  Life is paramount.
